2024 Event Information

Preliminary Event Schedule

An updated event schedule will be produced for each challenge and age group once numbers for each challenge are confirmed.

Tuesday 9th & Wednesday 10th July

Guided tours around Sunshine Coast including attractions, school visits and robotics companies. Entry is first come first served. Information to be released closer to the event.

Practice fields opened at TBC Venue.

Saturday 13th July 2024

Line Following, A-Maze-Ing, Mouse Labrynth, Alpine Challenge and Entrepereneurial events

8:30 am - Doors open for team registration, bag pickup, and robot inspections. Pits open in order ES, MS HS.
9:00 am - All teams must be checked in.
9:30 am - Opening Ceremony. Competitors please be seated infront of the stage. Spectators be seated in stands.
10:00 am - Start of qualifing rounds. See event rules.
11:00 am - Break for morning tea. Staggered.

  • ES Division - 11:00am - 11:30am.
  • MS Division - 11:15am - 11:45am.
  • HS & UP Division - 11:30am - 12:00pm.

11:30 am - Resume qualifing rounds.
1:00 pm - Break for Lunch. Staggered.

  • ES Division - 1:00pm - 1:30pm.
  • MS Division - 1:15pm - 1:45pm.
  • HS & UP Division - 1:30pm - 2:00pm.

3:00 pm - Final rounds (all practice fields closed)
4:00 pm - All finals completed.
4:15 pm - Awards ceremony and Day 1 raffle drawn.
5:00 pm - Day end, doors closed.

Sunday 14th July 2024

Open Sumo and Lego Sumo events

8:00 am - Doors open for team registration, bag pickup, and robot inspections. Pits open in order ES, MS HS.

  • Once doors open teams are to find a table in the Pits and then move to the robot inspection stations at the front of the stadium for weigh in and inspection. Robots without an inspection sticker will not be able to compete.

9:00 am - All teams must be checked in and weighed.

Frequently Asked Questons

Do I need to qualify to enter RoboRAVE Australia 2024? No, anyone can enter and compete in RoboRAVE Australia 2024.

Do I need to enter with a school or club? No, anyone can enter regardless of organisation, school etc. If you would like you enter your own private team you are more than welcome to.

How much is entry to RoboRAVE Australia This year we have simplified the team registriation fee. $50 per team for competitors. $10 per day for spectators. Children under 8 can spectate for free. Saturday competitors can spectate for free on Sunday and vice versa.

How do the age groups work? RoboRAVE was founded in the USA so the age groups are based on the USA school system.

ES - Elementary School (Age 8 to 10)

MS - Middle School (Age 11 to 13)

HS - High School (Age 14 to 18)

UP - University/Pro (Age 19 to 99)

Teams are defined by the age of their oldest team member on the day of competiton.

You may enter divisions higher than your age group, but not lower.
